Certified Halal in the USA
As the U.S. Muslim population grows, food conforming to Islamic standards is easier to get. Until recently, most halal certification was for foods exported to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and other Muslim countries. But the U.S. domestic market is catching up. Many hospitals, schools, cafeterias and restaurant chains, such as Kentucky Fried Chicken, seek halal certification.
